Sweetheart for my sweetheart

So a week or so ago a cup of coffee was spilled on my laptop. I won't mention any names. But it may or may not have been the same person who lost my license and credit card (which were thankfully recovered). But the result is an unworking comma key and also the arrows don't work. So that's awesome.

ANYWAY.

It's almost Valentines day! All over the sewing-internet I've been seeing Luvinthemommyhood's Sweetheart Dress, which I obviously love and made a bunch of months back for Clara's birthday party.

So I was going to squeeze my 18 month old in her 12month sized dress because it has a heart on it and that's just so festive right? I was so pleased with myself for already having a cute dress that I commented on Shannon's facebook page:

Then I was all.. wait. I could just make another one. Which is good since the Parisian themed dress is more like a shirt now. :(

Fabric is from Joann's – ironically purchased on the trip where I realized said credit card & license were missing, so I had to leave my order at the counter and come back the next day. Annoying.

I'm truthfully not usually one for kitschy-themey-tacky prints but come on, how sweet.

I tried getting pictures of the girl wearing the dress but she's quick as lightening so all you get is an insta:

And yes, I did make this dress solely for her to wear for 2 hours at our mommy group.

You can make one yourself by getting the Sweetheart Dress pattern here. Fabric is Cupid Arrows from Joann's ($3.49/yd!) with some cheap solid quilting fabric to line the bodice. You still have time! Get sewing!
